Lesson 9: Define Your Photography, Video, and Personal Style

Set the creative standards for photography, video, motion, fashion, hair, makeup, and other visual elements that shape how your artist identity is presented publicly.

Outcome. Set standards for how you are photographed and filmed so that every shoot produces usable, consistent material.

Photography is where most artist brands come apart, because each shoot is treated as a fresh idea. Standards fix that. Decide the lighting, the palette, the distance, the styling and the posture that belong to this era, and brief every photographer with the same document.

Do the same for motion. Video has its own decisions: framing, pace, grade, whether you speak to camera, what the first second looks like as a thumbnail. Get these wrong and the content will not read as yours even when you are in it.

Personal style is part of the system, not separate from it. Fashion, hair and makeup are as identifying as a logo and considerably more visible. Define the range, not a uniform, so you can vary without becoming unrecognizable.

Shoot for the formats you publish in. Plan vertical, square and wide crops before the day, not after.

What you will produce
