Define the core and extended elements of your identity, including your music, personality, values, imagery, symbols, and the functional, emotional, and self-expressive value you provide your audience.
Outcome. Separate the parts of your identity that never move from the parts that are free to evolve.
An identity system has a core and an edge. The core is what cannot change without changing who you are: the music itself, the values, the personality. The edge is everything that can move between eras: imagery, symbols, palette, styling. Confusing the two is how artists either stagnate or lose people.
Name both lists explicitly. Write down what stays true across every project you will ever release, and what you consider open to reinvention. Then a rebrand becomes a decision rather than an accident.
Finally, name the value you deliver. Functional is what the music does for someone, a workout, a commute, a cry. Emotional is how it makes them feel. Self expressive is what wearing your name says about them to other people. The third one sells merchandise and drives the sharing.
What you will produce
An identity system listing your core elements, your extended elements, and the functional, emotional and self-expressive value your audience receives.
