Lesson 5: Growing and Engaging Your Social Audience

Use content planning, community engagement, analytics, and platform tools to strengthen relationships with existing fans and reach new audiences.

Outcome. Run a content calendar, read what the numbers are telling you, and build campaigns fans take part in.

A content calendar turns a strategy into something that survives a busy week. Plan in themes rather than in individual posts, and keep a bank of material so a bad week does not become a silent month.

Engagement is a two way obligation. Replying, resharing and crediting fans does more for reach than another post, and it is the only part of social media that cannot be automated convincingly.

Analytics are read for decisions, not for mood. Which post brought new followers, which brought saves, which brought nothing. Three months of that is a content strategy built on evidence rather than on taste.

Campaigns beat constant output. A challenge where fans contribute their own stories does work that a hundred posts from you cannot, because it turns an audience into participants and gives them a reason to bring other people.

What you will produce

A three month content calendar, a simple analytics record you actually maintain, and one campaign designed to be participated in.
