Lesson 12: Final Project: Build Your Music Licensing Plan

Create a comprehensive licensing plan that identifies your rights, registrations, collection sources, target licensing opportunities, pitching strategy, international considerations, and revenue streams.

Outcome. Produce one complete licensing plan covering what you own, who collects it, and who you are pitching.

This module is the assembly. Everything built across the previous eleven modules becomes one operating document.

At its center is the rights table: one row per work, with the composition owner and share, the recording owner and share, the PRO, the publisher or administrator, the identifiers, the clearance status, the available versions and any restriction. It is the single document that answers every question a buyer will ask.

Around it sits the registration record, the collection arrangements at home and abroad, the target list and pitching strategy, and the revenue streams you are now collecting versus the ones you have chosen to leave.

Finally it names what you will do with a placement when it lands: the press, the retail, the touring and the follow on pitching, because one placement is worth far more when it is used as evidence for the next.

What you will produce

Your complete music licensing plan, with a finished rights table, registrations confirmed and a live target list.
